Tom's Verdict
💜 If you enjoy idle and incremental games, there's a good chance you'll enjoy Fracture Field. These are two of my favourite genres, and when a game successfully combines both, it immediately grabs my attention. One feature I particularly appreciated here is the optional auto-swing mechanic. Rather than constantly clicking, you can simply hover over rocks and let the game handle the repetitive part, making for a much more relaxed experience.
📈 Fracture Field also has a progression system that kept me coming back for `just one more upgrade`. The game offers two forms of reset mechanics. World Fractures provide bonuses for your current run and are reset when you perform a Reality Shatter. Reality Shatters act as the game's prestige system, rewarding Reality Shards that can be spent on permanent upgrades. As with any good incremental game, each reset makes future progress faster and more rewarding, creating a satisfying sense of long-term growth.
🤖 The real highlight for me, however, is the drones. Watching a small fleet of automated mining bots gradually take over the hard work is incredibly satisfying and is where the idle side of the game really starts to shine. Each drone can be upgraded independently, allowing you to improve their speed, efficiency and overall effectiveness. By the time your quarry is filled with busy little robots breaking rocks on your behalf, Fracture Field transforms from a simple mining game into an engaging automation-focused incremental experience that was very easy for me to recommend.

Why I Liked This Game
- Progression in this game feels solid, maybe a little slow at times with the prestige system, but it`s not rushed and not over in the blink of an eye.
- Each prestige means your next run feels like you are making progress, rocks break quicker and you move on quicker.
- The upgrading of the tool used, pushes you on, wanting to get the next one unlocked.
- The drones. They are the difference between this being just another incremental game and it feeling special to me.
What I Didn't Like In This Game
- Maybe I was just being impatient, but I found the prestige system slowed things down a little too much and at times it felt like it was dragging things out, just to make the game last longer.
